Alleged Drunk Driver's Car Dangles From Parking Deck

BUCKHEAD, GA -- A woman has been arrested and charged with DUI after Atlanta police say she smashed through safety rails at a Buckhead parking deck and ended up with her car suspended from the structure Thursday night, according to a report.

Madison Merritt was attempting to stop a car in front of her at the parking deck in the 2500 block of Piedmont Road when she began falling behind, a police report claims. Merritt stepped on the gas to keep up with the other car, but failed to negotiate a turn in the parking deck and ended up dangling halfway out of the fourth floor.

The police report claims Merritt was visibly drunk when she was pulled out of the car and could barely stand up. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and then booked into jail.
