Atlanta Hawks Players Arrested After NYC Club Stabbing
The players were arrested after refusing to let police secure the crime scene, according to reports.

Two members of the Atlanta Hawks were arrested in New York City early Wednesday morning after a stabbing at a nightclub which left another basketball player and his wife wounded.

Pero Antic and Thabo Sefolosha were arrested charged with obstruction after refusing to allow police to secure the crime scene at the 1 OAK Club in Chelsea, 11 Alive News reports. The Hawks are in New York to take on the Nets on Wednesday night.
Police say that Indiana Pacers player Chris Copeland and his wife were arguing outside the nightclub at approximately 4 a.m. when another group of people got involved, CBS Atlanta reports. One of those people, 22-year-old Shezoy Bleary, allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Copeland in the abdomen. Bleary is also accused of stabbing Copeland’s wife in the arm and slashing her across the breast and buttocks.

The Atlanta Hawks sent 11 Alive News a statement which acknowledged the arrests and stated that the team would make official comments once more information came to light.
Antic and Sefolosha were key players in the Hawks’ 96-69 win over Phoenix on Tuesday, setting a new franchise record of 58 wins in a season.
