Blairsville Is Super For Winter Temps On The Rise

When January graces us with temps in the 50s, 60s and 70s, nothing is better for your soul than a trip north to Blairsville

Georgians love the snow, but only for a moment. We are thrilled to see winter temps back on the rise. Looking for the perfect way to take advantage of these winter days that feel like spring? Here are three of our favorite ways to explore Blairsville with the family.

1. Go for the weekend and grab a cabin at Vogel State Park. The lodging here has been refurbished, and cabins resemble a page from Southern Living. You'll find hiking, a waterfall, a gorgeous lake, mini golf and more. And located not too far away from the park, take a drive to Sleepy Hollow to see colorful fairy house creations designed by a former Disney artist.

2. Hike Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia, for breathtaking views all year. It's a short hike (or you can ride the tram!) Another short hike that we love in Blairsville is Helton Creek Falls. It's ideal for families with smaller children. Don't forget to head over to one of Blairsville's awesome restaurants for a to-go lunch for your perfect picnic.

3. A longer and more rewarding hike is Blood Mountain, along the Appalachian Trail. Be sure to stop at Mountain Crossings on your way back for a snack, great views, and a T-shirt to commemorate your adventure.
