Blue Heron Nature Preserve Launches Health and Wellness Programs

Socially distant programs in nature that bring people together while staying safe.

During National Health and Wellness Month in August, the education team at Blue Heron Nature Preserve is launching diverse public programs for helping the community to enjoy the outdoors and to engage both the mind and body. Established in 2000 by a local art teacher, the thirty-acre Preserve has grown to include three-miles of soft paths and boardwalk trails, and a vibrant foundation of education, conservation, fine arts, and research.

Families can reserve a private hike through the Preserve with a naturalist, participate in a modern- day treasure hunt at our Letterboxing workshop, or explore the outdoors with the help of our Grab-and-Go Activity Kits. For adults, come for a relaxing hour of morning yoga amongst the trees or a private tour of the woods to learn more about native species and history of the land. -Join the gardening series to learn more about different techniques you could utilize in your own space.

Blue Heron Nature Preserve is committed to the health and wellness of our participants during these uncertain times, and will always take the safety of our community as the first priority. All programs follow socially distancing guidelines with the required use of face masks and small group sizes. With exquisite woodlands, wetlands and streams in this Atlanta park, it is no wonder that Blue Heron Nature Preserve is an ideal place to stretch your legs and relax your mind.
