Bob Gibeling Shares an Insider's View of the Democratic Convention
The Buckhead resident cast a historic vote in favor of the Democratic Party's platform. For the first time, it includes support of same sex marriage.
Here's an update from Bob Gibeling, an alternate delegate from Buckhead who is attending the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
6:17 p.m.
The historic platform with full marriage equality just passed unanimously. I cast my vote in favor along with the entire GA delegation!!!

5:46 p.m.
Due to the gracious offer from my friend Sally Rosser, I am seated on the main floor of the convention tonight with full voting power. This is when the platform is going to be voted on. So I will be able to vote the historic full equality plank.

Being able to cast that vote is deeply moving to me. 10 days ago the GA delegation had a meeting to talk about ANY concerns the delegates had about voting for the the platform with that historic plank. Those of us in the LGBT community were there to answer questions and concerns. Â
I talked to many delegates myself. I did not find a single soul who expressed any reservations!
