Covenant Presbyterian Church to Present Free Choral Concert Oct. 29
The church's adult choir will present "Requiem" by Gabriel Faure, with orchestral accompaniment provided by local musicians.

Covenant Presbyterian Church’s adult choir will present Requiem by Gabriel Faure on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. in the church’s historic sanctuary at 2461 Peachtree Rd. in Buckhead. The concert is free and open to the public. Orchestral accompaniment will be provided by local musicians, anchored by Jason Maynard at the organ. All will be under the musical direction of Jeffrey McIntyre, director of music and organist for Covenant Presbyterian Church.
“We are delighted to present this free concert for the public,” said McIntyre. “Requiem is the best known of Faure’s compositions and explores the themes of eternal rest and consolation. The work is a standard of choral repertoires and is perfect for Covenant’s choir. We have chosen the Sunday prior to All Souls Day on Nov. 2 in order to remember those whose souls have left this life as a result of the many natural disasters our planet has experienced recently.”
The baritone solo will be sung by guest singer Michael O’Hearn, an Atlanta native and currently a staff singer at Christ Church in Bronxville, NY. The soprano solo will be sung by Covenant Presbyterian Church’s choir member, Jeanne Ann Ratliffe.
