Covenant Presbyterian Church Presents “For Us The Living” Oct. 27
The choral production is free to the public and will be presented at 4 p.m. Oct. 27 in the sanctuary of the Buckhead church.

Covenant Presbyterian Church’s music director and choir will present “For Us The Living”, a requiem by Alfred Fedak, on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of the historic church. The program is free and open to the public. The work will be performed by a chamber orchestra and the Covenant Presbyterian Church adult choir featuring Soprano Jeanne Ann Ratliff, with Covenant’s Director of Music, Jeffrey McIntyre, conducting. Covenant is located at 2461 Peachtree Rd., NE, Atlanta, Ga. 30305. Free parking is available next door to the church on the top level of the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center parking deck.
“This beautiful work was first performed in April 2007. It was commissioned by Clifford Lamere of Albany, NY to honor the memory of his parents, but its message is universal,” said McIntyre. “’For Us The Living’ fully acknowledges the realities of death and grief, but it also serves as an affirmation of the gift of life. Its intention is to bring comfort, consolation, hope and encouragement to all who have suffered loss, making the piece – quite literally – a requiem for us, the living.”
An offering will be collected after the performance designated to sponsor a panel from The Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Dec. 1, which is World AIDS Day.
