Driver Crashes Car Off I-85 Bridge, Thought Police Were After Him
The man jumped 40 feet off the bridge after mistakenly thinking police were trying to stop him.
BUCKHEAD, GA — A man survived a 40-foot fall in his car after he drove the vehicle off an I-85 bridge early Thursday morning because he thought police were trying to pull him over. According to reports, after crashing his car, he got out of the vehicle and took off running into a wooded area.
The incident happened just after 1 a.m. Thursday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Atlanta police officers were trying to pull over someone else for speeding on I-85 and Lindbergh Drive.
Police did find a gun and drugs in the man's car, reports said. A description of the man has not been released.
