Atlanta, GA -- After an hours-long meeting at a Buckhead restaurant on Friday afternoon, the Atlanta Hawks have signed one of the most sought-after free agents on the NBA market.
Dwight Howard has agreed to a three-year, $70.5 million contract with the Hawks, reports ESPN.
An Atlanta native, Howard, 30, entered the NBA out of Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, and was picked No. 1 over in the 2004 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic. In 2013, he signed with the Houston Rockets, but opted out of his contract's final year.
The Hawks have made the playoffs for nine straight years, but were swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers for the last two.
