FDA Announces Recall of Some Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Products

Several Organic Traditions chocolate products have been recalled by the manufacturer because they were found to contain undeclared milk, according to the U.S. Food  & Drug Administration.

People who have an allergy to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Health Matters America Inc. of Cheektowaga, NY is recalling specific lots of:

• Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Hazelnuts,
• Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Hazelnuts With Chili,
• Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Almonds,
• Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Almonds With Chili.

These products were distributed through retail stores in Georgia, 21 other states and the District of Columbia.

The recall applies to 3.5 oz. (100 g) and 8 oz. (227 g) consumer size bags. Specific lots can be identifed on the Food & Drug Administration's website.
