Firefighters Battle 2 Alarm Fire At Buckhead Complex

Atlanta firefighters said the massive fire started in an attic.

BUCKHEAD, GA — A massive fire broke out Wednesday at a Buckhead apartment complex. The fire started close to 1 p.m.

Firefighters worked to put out the 2-alarm fire at 517 Main Street across the street from the Lindbergh MARTA station. The fire started in an attic, according to firefighters.

It took hours to extinguish the fire. A fire captain was later confirmed to have been hurt while fighting the fire, reported WXIA. He was taken to the hospital, but expected to be OK. The fire is believed to have started in the attic space above the fourth floor, before dropping down into the top story, according to fire officials.
