Georgia Weather Forecast: Rain, Thunderstorms This Week
See when there's most likely to be a thunderstorm this week, and which day is actually forecast to be dry.
ATLANTA, GA — Maybe it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas but, in metro Atlanta, it's going to be a soggy run-up to the big day. We've got lots of rain, and possibly some thunderstorms, in the forecast this week.
Thursday is the only day this work week when there's not a good chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service. We'll have a 30 percent chance of rain, jumping up to a 50 percent chance on Tuesday and an 80 percent chance on Wednesday.
The rain will return Friday, the weather service says, leading the way into a wet weekend. Thunderstorms are most likely on Wednesday, the weather service says.

At least it won't be too terribly cold. Highs will range from the upper-50s to upper-60s this week, with low temperatures in the 50s and upper 40s.
Don't let the rain soak your holiday spirit. But, if you're out and about grabbing some last-minute gifts this week, you'd better bring along an umbrella.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers Monday afternoon, mainly after 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. Monday night, a 20 percent chance of showers before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48.
Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. A 50 percent chance of rain Tuesday night. Cloudy, with a low around 57.
Wednesday: Rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 7 a.m. High near 67. Southwest wind 10-15 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 20 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Wednesday night, a 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 58. Mostly cloudy Thursday night, with a low around 45.
Friday: A 20 percent chance of light rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. Friday night, a 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.
