Georgia Weather Forecast: Warmer, Then (Lots Of) April Showers
It's going to warm up this weekend, then start raining. Find out when you can enjoy spring temperatures, and when you need to stay inside.

ATLANTA, GA — After a freeze warning for parts of northeast Georgia early Friday morning, things should warm up a bit this weekend in metro Atlanta. But, as is so often the case, we're going to have to bob and weave our ways around some spring showers before it's all over.
After a cold night — for spring in Georgia, anyway — the National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for far northeast Georgia early Friday, where temperatures were dropping into the low 30s. It wasn't quite that cold in metro Atlanta, but this weekend's warm-up will be welcome at any rate.
But along with those higher temperatures comes a slow-moving low pressure system that forecasters say will dump rain on us this weekend. Two to four inches of rain are possible, according to the National Weather Service, with localized flooding possible as well.

All that said, we could enjoy some clear skies on Friday and Saturday. The rain isn't expected to hit the metro area until Sunday. But, when it does, it won't be fooling around.

Sunday, there's a 70 percent chance of rain during the day, rocketing up to a 100 percent chance on Sunday night.
So, make some indoor plans for Sunday, and let's enjoy soaking in some rays until then. Have a great weekend, Atlanta.
