2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season Forecast Released
Residents preparing spring or summer beach trips will want to take note: Forecasters are looking to the potential impacts of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season. The experts at Colorado State University have issued their forecast for the upcoming season, which starts June 1 and runs through Nov. 30.
The good news is that forecasters anticipate average hurricane activity this year. That bad news is that average could still produce a total of 12 named storms, five hurricanes and two major hurricanes, according to Colorado State’s forecast. >>> Read more.
Hero Cop Pulls Woman From Wreck, Saves Her Life
Brookhaven police Officer Lois Strong lived up to her name Thursday morning. Strong was off duty and heading home when Brookhaven police say she came upon an accident on I-85 southbound near the downtown connector.
A motorist had been struck by a tractor trailer, which caused the vehicle to burst into flames. Along with an another, unidentified motorist, Strong sprung into action and pulled the driver from the burning vehicle. Seconds later the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. >>> Read More.
