The Limelight - Hotlanta
Break out your "disco" duds! The Buckhead Heritage Society's much anticipated Limelight program is coming Wednesday, Aug. 22.

The Buckhead Heritage Society’s much anticipated Limelight program is coming Wednesday, Aug. 22. Guests will hear stories about this amazing club in Buckhead history, and Guy D’Alema will project photos from his recent book “LIMELIGHT…in a sixtieth of a second.” D’Alema served as The Limelight's Paparazzi from 1981-85.
Located in the shopping center at the intersection of Peachtree and Piedmont Roads, the mega-sized nightclub, which operated from 1980-87, was often referred to as the “Studio 54 of the South.” The Limelight featured a glass dance floor, a snow machine, a confetti machine, a fog machine and a movie theater that aired black-and-white films. Celebrities like Burt Reynolds, Rod Stewart, Andy Warhol, Eartha Kitt and Ann-Margaret were entertained in the green room.
Buckhead Heritage welcomes you to break out your “disco” duds for the event, and will award special recognition to the best dressed individuals and couples.
