In Loving Memory of Eleanor Robertson Parris, 86

Eleanor Robertson Parris passed away peacefully in home hospice care in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Eleanor was 86 years old at the time of her death.
Eleanor was born on October 28, 1929, and was a life-long Atlanta resident. She grew up in West End and attended Atlanta Girls High School where she was in the last graduating class in 1947. Upon graduation, she worked briefly for Southern Bell then busied herself as a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was active in her Sunday school class at the Baptist Tabernacle in Downtown Atlanta, an active member of the Ragged Robin Garden Club in Southwest Atlanta, and an avid bridge player. Eleanor was a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church at the time of her death.
As an empty nester, Eleanor worked for the offices of Drs. Blaylock and Dennison and the Emory Healthcare System from 1979 until her retirement in 2004.
Eleanor is survived by her son, Joe Warren Parris III, daughter-in-law, Melanie Morgan Parris, and son-in-law, James Boyle Gissendanner. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lynn Parris Wofford (Mrs. James Gissendanner), and her parents, Ethel Sparks Robertson and Paul W. Robertson.
