In Loving Memory of Katherine C Pritchard, 91

Mrs. Pritchard was born in Clarksville, Georgia on November 5, 1924. Her parents, William and Mary Payne had two other daughters. Early in her life, the family moved to the Atlanta area, where she ended up attending the Girls High School.
Along with her family, she became a member of the Baptist Tabernacle Church where she eventually met her husband, Mr. Charles C. Pritchard. After graduating school, and during World War II, she worked for several years at the Bell Bomber plant in Marietta, Ga.
Katherine then married Charles in 1949 where she became a devoted housewife and mother raising two girls and a boy. Katherine had several interests, such as playing the piano, cooking, and decorative art work with China ware. For the past 15 years, she participated weekly in a water aerobics class following a hip replacement.
Katherine has always been an active member of the Second Ponce De Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta since the 1960’s. She taught Sunday school, and took on several different roles in the church over the years.
Katherine lost the love of her life, Charles, in 2013. She was survived by a son, Charles C. Pritchard and his wife Kim, along with a daughter, Amanda Fitcher and her husband Larry. Along with several grandchildren, friends, and the special relations she made at Piedmont Hospital aerobics class.
Katherine was a strong individual and a fighter. She was a breast cancer survivor along with two hip replacements in her life time. She will be truly missed, but always remembered by all that knew her. Katherine passed away on November 28, 2015, after a short illness. The family is asking in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in her name to the , or Second Ponce De Leon Church in Atlanta.
