A Georgia Southern football player who was paralyzed in a game against the University of Georgia in September will be in Athens again on Saturday to watch a rematch between the two sides.
Devon Gales, a sophomore, was paralyzed during a kickoff return at Sanford Stadium against the Bulldogs on Sept. 26. Since the injury, the young man has undergone a grueling rehabilitation process at Shepherd Center in Buckhead.
Gales has been buoyed by an outpouring of support from both the Georgia Southern and the University of Georgia, support so overwhelming that Gales told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he had begun rooting for the Bulldogs.
