Peachtree Road Race: Atlanta Road Closures Announced

Much of Peachtree between Buckhead and Midtown will be shut down, but other roads will close for the road race as well. See where and when.

ATLANTA, GA — The Peachtree Road Race is a beloved Atlanta tradition on the Fourth of July. But, if you're a motorist trying to get around town, road closures for the race — in which 60,000 runners are expected to participate — can be a headache.

Wheelchair racers are scheduled to take off at 6:27 a.m. on Wednesday, with elite women starting at 6:50 a.m., elite men at 7 a.m. and flights containing everyone else stepping off from 7-8:40 a.m.
