Revised School Bus Safety Law: What You Need To Know
Gov. Brian Kemp recently signed a revision of the bill, which was passed unanimously by the General Assembly.

ATLANTA -- Gov. Brian Kemp's first new law is a major revision to the state's school bus safety measure, a move that won unanimous support from the General Assembly. Senate Bill 25 has gone into immediate effect and is designed to improve school bus safety for families and children across Georgia.
Drivers in both directions on a two-lane road and multi-lane roads with a center turn lane must stop for a school bus that is picking up or dropping off kids. Drivers traveling in the opposite direction of the bus on a multi-lane road that has a permanent barrier or grass/concrete median do not have to stop, but should still slow down and drive with caution.
The new law basically reverted back to what the old law stated before it changed last year. The new law became effective with Governor Brian Kemp's signature.
