Three Easy Day Trips from Atlanta

The weekend is almost here. Time to get out and enjoy what should be a gorgeous weekend. Here are three fun day trips to get you out of the city and exploring.

Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain TN: There are more caves in Tennessee than anywhere in the United States. Most are located on private property. Ruby Falls however, is open to the public and a perfect introduction to the underground past time of spelunking or caving. Plus, the falls at the end of the walk is breathtaking. Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn, Ga.: If you're looking for fall color, this is a great place to find it. Silver Comet Trail, Smyrna, Ga.: Take a day trip to Alabama via bike. The Silver Comet trail starts in Smyrna and ends at the Georgia Alabama line near Cedertown where it picks up the 33-mile long Chief Ladiga trail. This fully paved thruway is perfect for bikes, strollers, or just walking.
