What’s Open, Closed Christmas Week 2020 In Buckhead
Check for Buckhead services and offices that are already closed or are closing early this week for Christmas.
BUCKHEAD, GA — Christmas may be different for some who may avoid larger gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19. What hasn't changed is the closure of many services in Buckhead for the holiday.
While Christmas is a federal holiday, some services may start their closures on Christmas Eve. Here are the openings and closings to know on and around Thursday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Friday, Dec. 25 (Christmas).
- Fulton County courts, facilities and offices are closed on Thursday and Friday.
- Fulton County public safety services are available 365 days per year.
- Buckhead garbage pick up: The city of Atlanta's Office of Solid Waste Services is closed on Dec. 25. If your regularly scheduled service day falls on Christmas Day, your service will resume on Saturday, Dec. 26.
- The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority will operate bus service, rail service and Atlanta streetcar service on their respective Sunday schedules Dec. 24-25.
- Fulton County Schools students are off from Dec. 21-Jan. 4, all offices are closed.
- Atlanta Public Schools students are also off from Dec. 21-Jan. 4, all offices are closed.
- Municipal offices for the city of Atlanta are closed Thursday and Friday.
- This is a federal holiday and all U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed. No mail will be delivered or sent. Regular business hours will resume Saturday, Dec. 26.
- Publix: All stores open at regular hours and close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. All stores and pharmacies will be closed on Christmas Day.
- Kroger: All stores and pharmacies will close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day.
