Where Atlanta families need to hit the slopes this winter

We got a taste of the white stuff earlier this summer...but it was just enough for some good neighborhood hill sledding. For the best ski vacation, you'll have to leave the city.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is the highest resort in the east, scraping the sky at 5,506 feet. Beech Mountain, NC is within a gas-tank’s drive from Atlanta, it offers affordable lift tickets and accommodations, and they dote on families.

Also in North Carolina, Appalachian Ski Mountain is great for beginners.

Ready to head west for some real snow fun?

Park City is an ideal choice since Salt Lake City (the nearest airport) is another Delta hub. Think cheap and frequent flights.
