Where Will Your Kids Trick or Treat on Halloween?

Is old-fashioned trick or treating too dangerous? Will you let your kids go knocking on doors in your neighborhood this year?

Or will you head for one of the many Halloween alternatives?

There are several parades and festivals designed to offer a different approach to Halloween fun.

The Grant Park Conservancy is hosting a kids' costume and lantern parade on Oct. 27.

On the same day, Chamblee will hold a Halloween Spooktacular face painting, pumpkin painting, a spooky funhouse, games and even a 5K. And the Fernbank Museum will hold a Fernbank Boo-seum Trick or Treat which will include free treats for kids who show up in costume.

On Halloween night itself, Buckhead's Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church will hold a Trunk or Treat event. Church volunteers with decorated car trunks or tailgates will pass out candy at the church parking lot from 6-7 p.m. so kids can have a safe trick-or-treat experience.

And some local malls also throw trick or treat events.
