Winter Weather Predicted to Blast Metro Atlanta on Wednesday
But any snow, ice or accumulation is expected north of DeKalb, Fulton and Cobb counties.

PEACHTREE CITY, GA -- The southern end of a major winter storm is expected to blow through DeKalb, Fulton and Cobb counties on Wednesday, but any ice or snow is expected to be well north of the metro area.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of north Georgia, lasting from 4 a.m. Wednesday until 1 a.m. Thursday.
Forecasters are monitoring what could become a major winter storm hitting the region. It is expected to wallop the northeast the hardest, with as much as 1 to 2 feet of snow predicted for northwest of Interstate 95.

In metro Atlanta, lows are expected to drop into the upper 20s on Tuesday night. Wednesday’s high is expected to be in the mid 40s.
The afternoon is expected to bring a chance of rain and snow between noon and 1 p.m., then a 40% chance of rain in the afternoon. The rain is predicted to continue through Wednesday night, when temperatures will dip intothe mid and upper 30s.

Showers are forecast to continue Thursday and Friday and, while daytime temperature will make it up into the mid-40s those days, there remains a 30% chance of snow Friday night.
Residents are urged to use caution when traveling in icy conditions and to take other precautions to avoid exposure to the elements during the advisory.
