Video Released of Armed Carjacking in Buckhead Parking Garage

A Buckhead woman says she is scared after she was robbed at gunpoint by four suspects as she pulled into a parking space at a local apartment complex last week.

Atlanta police said the woman pulled into the third level of the parking garage at the Mezzo Apartment Homes, located at 2171 Peachtree Road, just after midnight in the early hours of Thursday, Oct. 20.

As soon as she pulled her newer-model BMW into a parking space, police say five men pulled up in a car alongside her. She said four men then got out with guns drawn.

The 26-year-old woman said two of the men pointed their guns at her while at least one other man searched her car.

Fox5 News reports the woman was walked over to a column in the garage and one of the suspects pointed a gun at her back while another patted her down, asking her where her phone was.

She said the men stole her purse, wallet and jewelry, and drove off with her car.

Police also told Fox 5 that around 30 minutes later, another robbery and carjacking took place about three miles away at a gas station on Northside Drive. In that incident, a car was stolen that had a safe with $28,000 in it, that was supposed to be used to pay a business's payroll.

Police said the same group of suspects may have committed both crimes.

Both cars were later recovered on McDaniel Street in Southwest Atlanta, though the belongings and the safe were not found with the vehicles.

An investigation is still underway, and police are reviewing surveillance footage from multiple sources in an attempt to identify the suspects.
