Woman's Dog Adopted Out by Animal Shelter: Report

An Atlanta woman is at her wit's end after she says Fulton County Animal Services adopted out her runaway dog last month.


ATLANTA, GA -- An Atlanta woman is begging a local family to return her dog, who they adopted from Fulton County Animal Services last month.

Brittany Ray’s dog Loki ran away on Dec. 17 and was featured in a found dog ad on Craigslist, according to WSB-TV. Loki was left at the animal shelter on Dec. 19, where employees tried to contact Ray without success. Soon, Loki was adopted out to a new family.

Ray tells WSB-TV she isn’t faultless in the incident, but says she’s desperate to get Loki back.

Fulton County Animal Services tells WSB-TV it did everything by the book and has asked the adoptive family to return Loki, a request they have refused.
