Woodward Academy President Stuart Gulley Voted Most Admired CEO

COLLEGE PARK, GA – Woodward Academy President Dr. Stuart Gulley was recently named the 2016 Most Admired CEO in Education by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in their annual Most Admired CEO Awards. Dr. Gulley was selected by readers from a group of five CEO nominees including Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, Morehouse School of Medicine; G.P. “Bud” Peterson, Georgia Institute of Technology; Mark Becker, Georgia State University; and Meria Carstarphen, Atlanta Public Schools. Other CEO winners came from the fields of banking and finance, commercial real estate, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, nonprofit, professional services, residential real estate, and technology.

When asked what other CEOs can do to win such great admiration from their stakeholders, Dr. Gulley answered, “More than admiration, I think a leader should desire respect. Respect is gained by operating with integrity, transparency, and trust. If respect results in admiration, so much the better.”

Atlanta’s top CEOs were honored at a special awards breakfast held at the Atlanta Aquarium on August 25, 2016.
