CCA PJ Day: Every Child Deserves a Safe Place to Sleep
With a dollar donation to help homeless kids in the community, Cherokee Charter Academy students could wear pajama pants to school
Students at Cherokee Charter Academy in Canton raised nearly 500 dollars for the Center for Children & Young Adults "Every Child Deserves a Safe Place to Sleep" campaign.
Youth that come to CCYA have caregivers who have died, are incarcerated, abusive, homeless, addicted or have abandoned them. As a result, these children have suffered through intolerable living conditions and abuse and have had no access to medical care or educational services.
CCA 5th Grade Social Studies teacher Helen Williams said, “This fundraiser was a wonderful opportunity for our students to unite and show support for a charity that aids homeless youth in our area and elsewhere. I am proud of the passion and drive that the students have shown and their efforts to support this great cause.”
