Election Day: What Holly Springs Citizens Should Know
Residents will vote in a slew of local races, including sheriff, school board chair, county commission and Senate District 21.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- Voters in Cherokee County will have no shortage of races on the ballot when they head to the polls on Tuesday.
That's because the May 24 primary and special election will take place, and (hopefully) thousands of citizens will turn out to make their opinions known on key races in the area.
Polls will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and voters are reminded to bring photo identification with them in order to take part in the democratic process.

There are four precinct changes for some Cherokee voters that will go into effect on Tuesday, May 24. The new polling place for voters in the Holly Springs precinct will be Holly Springs Baptist Church, which is located at 2632 Holly Springs Parkway. This is a change from the previous precinct, Holly Springs United Methodist Church.

- Ball Ground precinct: moved from Ball Ground Community Center to Ball Ground United Methodist Church at 3045 Canton Highway in Ball Ground.
- Bells precinct: moved from Furtah Prep School to Clark Creek STEM Academy at 3219 Hunt Road in Acworth.
- Union Hill precinct: new polling location is the Union Hill Community Center at 1780 A J Land Road in Canton.
All affected voters impacted by these changes should have received new precinct cards showing the new locations.
Voters in Cherokee County will decide on several key races, including the race for sheriff, District 2 county commissioner, District 3 county commissioner, tax commissioner, school board chair, State Court judge, Superior Court judge, clerk of courts, State Senate District 21, State House District 21 and U.S. representative for Georgia's 11th Congressional district.
