Holly Springs, Canton Celebrate Holidays With Parades, Santa Claus
Both cities have Christmas-related events scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5.

Residents in Canton and Holly Springs have a less than two days before they can celebrate the start of the holiday season at their respective city’s events.
Holly Springs has two family-friendly events lined up for 2015. On Friday, Dec. 4, the city will light the community Christmas tree at the Historic Train Depot, which is located in the heart of the city.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will include Christmas carols and light refreshments.

At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, the city will host its 11th annual Holly Springs Christmas Parade. The procession will march down Holly Springs Parkway and after ending at the train depot, residents are encouraged to stick around for entertainment, children’s kids crafts, hot cocoa and treats.
Of course, you are also invited to come inside the Depot to have your complimentary picture taken with Santa Claus.

For its part, the city of Canton’s events will all take place on Saturday. Starting at noon, the annual Marketplace, which will feature vendors and live music, will get underway at noon at Cannon Park.
In the evening, the 28th annual Christmas Parade, organized by the Canton Optimist Club, will kick off at 6 p.m.
Lineup for the parade will start at 4 p.m. behind AutoZone on Waleska Street. The optimist club will also be accepting canned food donations at designated locations along the parade route, which loops around West Main, East Main and North streets.
For those who’d like to take photos with Santa Claus before the parade starts, you can stop by the gazebo in Cannon Park between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for that opportunity.
