Holly Springs, Canton To Host Christmas Events
Holly Springs' Christmas tree lighting will be held Friday, Dec. 1, and the parades of both cities will take place Saturday, Dec. 2.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- The cities of Holly Springs and Canton are preparing to host their annual Christmas events designed to usher in the 2017 holiday season.
In Holly Springs, the city will host its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1 at the Historic Train Depot. Christmas carols will be performed by preschoolers from Primrose School of Harmony on the Lakes and Cherokee Charter Academy's chorus members. Hot cider and Christmas cookies (while they last) will also be on hand for the ceremony.
At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec.2, the city's 13th annual Christmas Parade will take off, beginning at the intersection of Holly Springs Parkway and Mountain Brook Drive and continuing south towards the train depot.

After the parade, the Train Depot will offer Christmas crafts for the kids, complimentary sweet treats and hot cocoa from Smallcakes Truckcakery and free pictures with Santa Claus. Up the road in the Cherokee County seat, the Canton Optimist Club will present the city's annual concert and parade. Entertainment begins at noon on the square and the parade will begin at 6 p.m.
The parade lineup starts at 4 p.m. at AutoZone on Waleska Street, and the procession will wind through downtown along West and East Main streets and loop back on North Street. For more information about the city's events, call 770-704-1500.
