Holly Springs Tree Commission To Host Arbor Day Event

At the Historic Train depot, you can get free seedlings and thornless blackberry bushes.

From The Holly Springs Tree Commission: The Holly Springs Tree Commission invites residents to take part in its first Arbor Day event on Friday, February 15th at the Historic Train Depot. From 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Commission members will be giving away Crape Myrtle, Dogwood, and Live Oak seedlings, as well as thornless blackberry bushes.

The Commission is looking forward to hosting this event, as it is the first event held after receiving notification that Holly Springs has earned designation as a Tree City USA community. During 2018, the Tree Commission approved bylaws and a city-wide tree care ordinance, made Yard of the Month presentations, and assisted L.R. Tippens Education Center with a tree planting ceremony.
