Seamless Summer Option Ensures Kids Won't Go Hungry

The program, which offers free meals during the summer for Holly Springs and Hickory Flat children 18 years old or younger, starts June 8.

The Cherokee County School District will once again participate in the USDA Seamless Summer Option.

The initiative offers free meals during the summer for children 18 years of age or younger and runs Monday through Friday, June 8 through July 24.

The distribution sites and times are listed below. Some sites also serve breakfast, and children can participate in either or both meals at no cost.

Almost one-third of district students qualify for free or reduced meals during the school year, and this program ensures that children continue to have access to meals throughout the summer break.

Lunch: noon to 12:30 p.m.

East Gate Mobile Home Park

Lunch: 10:45 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.
