Where To Recycle Your Christmas Tree in Holly Springs

The 25th annual Bring One for the Chipper event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- Do you still have your Christmas tree up and decorated? Are you stumped on how you will dispose of it?

Well, don’t fret! The statewide 25th annual Bring One for the Chipper initiative will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2, and three locations in Cherokee County will host collection drives.

In Woodstock, you can drop off your tree from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Olde Rope Mill Park. Along with disposing of your Christmas tree, you can also pick up some free tree seedlings and seeds and enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and donuts while supplies last.

Woodstock’s campaign coincides with its annual Christmas Tree Chip n Dip program, which will run 8 a.m. to dusk through Jan. 11. The initiative involves chipping Christmas trees and allowing residents to return with shovels to dip into the mulch created by the chippings.

Just up the road in Holly Springs, residents can also recycle their live and undecorated trees at Home Depot at 4520 Holly Springs Parkway. You can utilize this service from from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In the Cherokee County seat of Canton, Bring One for the Chipper will take place at Boling Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bring One for the Chipper, organized by Keep Georgia Beautiful, works with private sponsors to organize the statewide event.

The program involves hundreds of Georgia communities and thousands of volunteers. Since its inception, the program has recycled about six million Christmas trees. The mulch from trees has been used for playgrounds, local government beautification projects and individual yards.
