Combining the large sound of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and a heavy metal edge from a Georgia band named Halcyon Way, the display rocks the house at 3848 Rivers Run Trace in Acworth.

The display runs through Jan. 1 — 5:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays, and 5:45 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Becky and Chip Hranicky have been sharing their yard with the community for seven Christmases, the continuation of a long-standing holiday tradition.

“Growing up we always decorated for Christmas and my sister, Wilma, and I still carry this tradition on today,” Becky explained in an email to Patch. “I always decorated outside and then left the lights on all the time until a friend of mine showed me a house using Lights-O-Rama and thought it was the most magical thing [reminded me of Disney].

“I showed my husband, Chip, and then he was brought in especially since he plays the drums and keyboard. We started with 4 LOR boxes and it took 2 years to figure it out and now every year, once we get it all up and running, we start planning for the next year on how to make the show bigger and better.”

They’ve got it all down pretty well already. The display features precision synchronization, a dizzying array of ”moving” lights, and dramatic music stops. Tune into the music on your FM radio.

“We enjoy passing on the Magical Christmas spirit and do this as our way of giving back to the community,” Becky said. “We feel rewarded when someone tells us how much they enjoy the show and this is what keeps us motivated to continually enhance the show.”

This is the first year donations are being accepted for Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

“We have a red ’Snoopy’ dog house tied into the display as the donation box and have a mailbox attached to the roof of the doghouse to collect monies on their behalf,” Becky said.
