GDOT Explains Parsons Road Bridge Closure, Detours at Open House

Johns Creek residents can learn about the scheduled closure of the Parsons Road bridge and related detours at an open house Nov. 21 by the Georgia Department of Transportation at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Johns Creek.

The state is replacing the ageing bridge over Johns Creek, making it wider, and adding a 5-foot-wide sidewalk on the south side of the bridge and an 8-foot wide trail on the north side. Parsons Road will be closed at the bridge during construction. Traffic is projected to be re-routed during construction, which is projected to last from the summer of 2014 through late 2014 or early 2015.

At the open house, there will be no formal presentation, but the public can look at the proposed detours, ask questions, and comment on the proposal.
