High Water Closes Road In Johns Creek

High water with more rain on the way has closed a road in Johns Creek, city officials say.

JOHNS CREEK, GA – Heavy rainfall on Monday has prompted Johns Creek city crews to close Buice Road at Johns Creek between Farmbrook Lane and Twingate Drive, according to a news release. Due to excessive rains and high water the city has closed Buice Road at Johns Creek.
Please Avoid the area and use alternate routes. City crews are monitoring the situation and will
provide updates on road and safety status changes.

Multiple rounds of rain will affect much of north and central Georgia through Thursday. Additional rainfall of 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts, can be expected. On top of what has already fallen on Nov. 12, the additional rain will increase the flood potential across the area, especially along creeks and small streams. Localized flash flooding is possible as well.

A flood watch is in effect for the region until 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, according to the National Weather Service.Thunderstorms are also possible, mainly in central Georgia. The primary hazards with any thunderstorm will be heavy rainfall and gusty winds.
