Where Were You When The Snow Storm Hit Johns Creek?
The first snow storm of the season hit Johns Creek and the metro area hard. Here are photos of residents who sent in photos to Patch to share.
Weather prognosticators were warning of a possible snow and icy conditions as early as Monday evening. TheΒ worstΒ of the bad weather, they saidΒ would likely hit south of the Atlanta metro area.
They were wrong.
The gridlock in Johns Creek left many stranded and some who jumped out of their own cars to help other drivers who were slipping and sliding trying to get home Tuesday night.
Numerous updates arrived throughout the afternoon and eveningΒ from the City of Johns Creek reporting of streets totally impassible.
Patch posted the updates on the Johns Creek Patch Facebook page as soon as the alerts arrived.
Adding to the traffic, was school traffic. Fulton County school leaders announced classes were cancelled as of 1:45 p.m. sending parents scrambling to pick up their children.
Buses clogged the snowy roads that were beginning to ice over. Traffic was at a near standstill at rush hour.
