Northview High Graduates To Compete at National FBLA Conference

Neeraj Alavala and Keshav Pandiri partnered to represent the state of Georgia at the FBLA Conference in Anaheim.

From 2017 Northview HS: Northview High Graduates Neeraj Alavala and Keshav Pandiri are representing the state of Georgia at the National Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Conference in Anaheim, CA. Alavala and Pandiri are presenting a project they worked in partnership with the Johns Creek Chamber that was designed to help educate Northview FBLA Students in different business skills, by providing hands-on opportunities to the students in planning, marketing, executing and networking at various Chamber events.

"The Johns Creek Chamber values the relationship that has developed between our chamber and our local high schools and we've enjoyed mentoring these exceptional students to help prepare them for their future business careers," said Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce president, John Bemont.

This partnership resulted in successful marketing and logistical support from Northview FBLA during the Chamber’s Camp Expo, which was held at Woodward Academy’s north campus. The Chamber deemed the Camp Expo as a success, and students also gained valuable experience. The Chamber intends to continue this model with local high schools for future events.

Avala and Pandiri’s presentation of this partnership won first place in the state for the Partnership with Business category during the FBLA Conference at the University of Georgia in Athens, which earned them the trip to the national FBLA conference.

While some of the costs of the trip are covered by the national FBLA, the students needed to pay $1,000 out of pocket to make the trip. They would appreciate a small donation for assistance. Donations can be made via the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce. Please contact Laura Houston at 770 495-0545 or lhouston@johnscreekchamber.com.
