Remains found in the backyard of Clement's former home at 555 Farmbrook Trail were believed to be that of Massner, but authorities were awaiting official confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The long wait had frayed the nerves of those close to Massner, including his mother. Stephanie Cadena told WXIA-TV this week that she had reached her limit.

“Words cannot express my frustration that it's taken the United States Army 3 weeks to send my sons dental records and once they were received by the Cobb County Medical Examiner this morning I was told that it would take about an hour to compare the records," she told the TV station in a statement. "I patiently waited until shortly before 5 p.m. before calling again only to find out it could take another 24-48 hours to make a positive identification!”
