Dave Krache Foundation Donates $2500 to Matt Ryan’s ATL Fund

KENNESAW, Ga., June 18, 2020 -- The Dave Krache Foundation, a metro Atlanta nonprofit that helps pay fees for kids to play sports, has donated $2500 to Matt Ryan’s Advancing the Lives (ATL) of the Black Community fund.

“Our organization is all about paying for kids to play sports, because Dave Krache was all about sports,” said Donna Krache, President of the Dave Krache Foundation. “What better way to honor his legacy than to help Matt Ryan make an impact in our community.”

Members of the foundation’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to donate the money to Matt Ryan’s cause. The Atlanta Falcons quarterback launched the fund this month with a goal of raising $2 million.

“I see my city hurting, which is why I’m starting a fundraiser to help improve the community for people of color in the city of Atlanta,” Ryan wrote on Instagram. Ryan challenged everyone to “rise up as a community” – and the foundation responded.

“For nearly eight years, we have helped kids throughout metro Atlanta by paying their fees so they could play the sports they love,” said Allison Giddens, Founder and Executive Director of the Dave Krache Foundation. “We felt that helping our hometown quarterback improve the lives of others was the right thing to do.”

The Dave Krache Foundation was started by Giddens, Dave Krache’s eldest daughter, in 2012. Since its inception, the foundation has helped more than 800 kids throughout metro Atlanta by paying fees for them to play when their parents have faced hardship due to layoffs, medical costs, divorce, and other problems. Dave Krache died in 2009 and was a community leader, volunteer, businessman and an avid sports fan.
