Fundraiser Created For Family Of Vet Who Went Missing In Kennesaw

An online fundraiser has been created for family of Chase Massner, who went missing. Cobb police said this week they've found some remains.

KENNESAW, GA -- A couple days after police in Cobb County said that they've found remains near where an Army veteran went missing, an online fundraising page has surfaced for the family of Chase Massner. The 26-year-old husband and father disappeared in Kennesaw in March 2014.

Some remains -- Cobb police didn't yet know if they were human or animal -- were found by authorities Tuesday behind a home in the 500 block of Farmbrook Trail. "As most of you know we finally have answers to this sad case that has eaten away at our hearts for over 3 years," Warnes says on the GoFundMe page. "While the family had greatly appreciated your support through this we can't stop now. With travel pays, final expenses and everything in between. Chase signed on that dotted line to give his life for ours, now it's our turn to help his family.

Earlier this week, Cobb spokeswoman Officer Alicia Chilton confirmed to Patch that the remains were discovered at an address that is the last known location of Massner.

"We located remains (unsure if human or animal at this time) at 555 Farmbrook Trail," Chilton said in a news release. "The remains have been removed from the backyard of the residence, and the medical examiner and detectives are now working to identify the remains."

The GoFundMe page goes on to say this:
