When a local high school student or parent seeks your support in a band fund raising program, those funds help school band programs excel and make band more affordable to a wider range of participants. It's one of the main reasons that high school bands such as the Harrison Bands program run year-round activities to raise additional funds.

For Harrison Bands, fundraising efforts are led by the Harrison High Band Boosters, a group of parents and volunteers dedicated to supporting the band in its musical development, outstanding performances and regional and national competitions.

Harrison Bands fundraisers incorporate both raising money for the band and making band fun for students, parents and the broader community. Popular fundraisers include the spring plant sale, an ongoing carwash coupon program, raffles and auctions, and special performance events like the upcoming Pops in the Park outdoor event on May 1.

Students often earn individual fundraising credits with most programs, meaning a portion of funds are credited back directly to the student who raised the money. Typical Harrison Bands fundraising students and families offset 30-70% of annual band fees through fundraising, with the top families eliminating 100% of band fees through diligent efforts.

Families, friends and colleagues of Harrison Bands families can also participate in retail-oriented fundraising programs offered by Kroger, Publix and Amazon, where a small portion of normal expenditures are returned to the band when participants register for the programs. These programs can earn thousands of dollars for Harrison Bands -- or other charities which can be selected. A similar program offers gift card purchases on more than 100 brands which earn lucrative fundraising rebates of 1-12% on purchases for registered families.

Harrison Bands also welcomes -- and band families loyally patronize -- corporate sponsors, local businesseswho make financial or in-kind contributions of needed services. For examples, local restaurants often donate catered meals in return for sponsorships. Sponsors receive advertising benefits on the band's website, the weekly e-newsletter and on the band's travel trailer.
