James Longstreet: Lee’s ‘Old War-Horse’ Course at KSU: Rising to the rank of lieutenant general, James Longstreet participated in most of the battles the Army of Northern Virginia fought during the American Civil War. During this course, with instructor Michael K. Shaffer, students will explore Longstreet’s military career from his days at West Point, to his postwar life in Gainesville, Georgia.
