Kennesaw Med Student Gets Scholarship

Sixteen students in total were awarded $53,800 in scholarship money from the Northside Hospital Atlanta Auxiliary.

COBB COUNTY, GA -- The Northside Hospital-Atlanta Auxiliary has awarded 16 recipients a total of $53,800 in scholarship funds that will assist them in pursuing their education in the field of medicine.

The 16 recipients of the annual scholarship are Northside Hospital Auxilians, employees or their immediate family, who are enrolled in a health-related program in an accredited college, university or health-related technical school.

“This is another vital program we provide to our Northside Hospital community,” said Michaelle Arkin, president of the Northside Hospital-Atlanta Auxiliary.Our Auxiliary scholarship program enables our employees, our volunteers and their dependents the opportunity to further their education with financial help.”

The scholarship is awarded based on documented need and the number of applicants. This year’s scholarship recipients included:

· Kathryn P. Parr, of Atlanta, who is pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of Alabama

· Ina James-Moore, of Atlanta, a graduate Master of Nursing Informatics student at Chamberlain College of Nursing

· Kayla E. Solazzo, of Marietta, a nursing undergraduate at Georgia College & State University

· Caroline Jackson, of Marietta, a Post Baccalaureate of Pharmacy at Georgia Perimeter College

· Gail M. Adjanasuknart, of Marietta, who is pursuing a MSN at Mercer University

· Rosemary C. Rollins, of Kennesaw, a Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) undergraduate at Georgia Regents University

· Bridget E. Sandy, of Lilburn, who is a BSN undergraduate at the University of North Georgia

· Randi Goldstein, of Alpharetta, a nutrition science undergraduate at the University of Georgia

· Cheryl L. Jones, of Conyers, a graduate nursing student Chamberlain College of Nursing

· Jennifer N. Davenport, of Marietta, a nursing graduate student at Georgia State University

· Wentai K. Andebrhan, of Clarkston, a Mercer University nursing undergraduate

· Luke G. Qin, of Sandy Springs, a biochemistry undergraduate at Georgia Tech

· Gurlynn Singh, of Roswell, of Roswell, a Master of Arts Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate at Argosy University

· Camille M. Usher, of Atlanta, a MSN graduate student at the University of North Georgia

· Ora Williams, of Grayson, a Doctor of Health Administration graduate student at Capella University

· Brittany Young, of Winston Salem, N.C., who is pursuing a medicine graduate degree at Wake Forest School of Medicine

Scholarship applications are being accepted through January 13. To qualify, the applicant must be pursuing a career in a medical related field and be accepted to an accredited Georgia school; be affiliated with Northside Hospital (employee, family member or Auxiliary) and have more than one year of school to complete.
