Kennesaw Nurse Accused Of Stealing Students' Medications
A middle school nurse in Acworth has been accused of taking more than $1,500 worth of students' medications from the school, police say.

KENNESAW, GA — A school nurse has been fired and arrested for allegedly stealing more than $1,500 worth of medications from students, an arrest warrant shows.
Lindsey Waggoner, 38, of Kennesaw, is the now former nurse at Barber Middle School in Acworth, WSB-TV reported.
A booking report from the Cobb County Jail shows Waggoner was booked into the jail on Sept. 19 for felony theft by taking. Her bond was set to $15,000.

Cobb school police allegedly found her in possession of 209 pills, including Adderall, generic forms of Ritalin and Focalin, and Evekeo, WSB-TV reported.
The TV station reported that the school contacted impacted families and that the Barber Middle School Principal Tia Amlett wrote a letter to parents that says, in part:

"We noticed some of our students' medication was missing. We immediately launched an investigation in an attempt to discover what had taken place."
Additionally, the school system sent a letter, that also said in part:
"Last week, school administration and Cobb Schools police immediately launched an investigation when alerted that medicine was missing. The investigation led to the arrest of a staff member who is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the police investigation and criminal charges. The District is in the process of reimbursing the families who were impacted.
