Kennesaw State Police Warn Of Shooting Near Campus Stadium

Cobb County Police said a shooting occurred at the Stadium Villages Apartment Complex Sunday across from Kennesaw's stadium.

KENNESAW, GA — Kennesaw State University Police are saying there is no imminent threat to students after a shooting happened Sunday, Oct. 6.

On Monday, police said Oluwafemi Oyerinde, 18, of Lawrenceville as killed in the shooting.

Khalil Bennett, 18, of Grayson and Jarius Bonner, 18, were taken to a local hospital.

The department posted online that the Cobb County Police Department confirmed a shooting at the Stadium Villages Apartment Complex near Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

11Alive reported that one person was killed and two others wounded during the shooting and taken to a hospital. Cobb County Police Sgt. Wayne Delk told the station the shooting was spurred from an argument between neighbors.
