Kennesaw State Gives All Clear After Intruder Arrested On Campus

Kennesaw State officials said there is no danger after the campus was told to seek shelter for an armed intruder. One person was arrested.

KENNESAW, GA — There is no longer an armed threat at Kennesaw State University, officials said shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday. Earlier the campus was under a shelter-in-place order.

KSU Emergency Management tweeted at 2:45 p.m.: "All Clear. Suspect has been apprehended and there is no threat to either KSU campus. Please resume normal operations."

An "armed intruder" was on campus, the agency said just before 3 p.m. on Twitter.

The armed person was seen near the Machinist Lodge around 2:40 p.m., authorities said. The type of weapon the person had was not mentioned.

"Seek shelter in a secure location until further notice," Emergency Management said at 3:10 p.m.
