Jimmy Lallathin was fired via press release on March 23, but the Marietta Daily Journal now reports that the coach has been relieved of duty behind the bench and will fulfill other tasks within the department. Associate Head Coach David Rivers will take over as interim coach, the KSU release said.
Lallathin himself was once an interim head coach, replacing Lewis Preston during the 2013-14 season. According to the MDJ, the Owls turned in a record of 10-22 during their most recent campaign, the best season for the program since 2009-10.

University officials were tight-lipped regarding Lallathin’s new assignment and the details of the review, saying only that more information should become available within two weeks. Lallathin’s attorney told MDJ that his camp would be releasing a statement on Tuesday.
